To update all I have the jig ready for production and I want to thank all involved , Craig Holden and Don Williams. I made a few improvements to the design and will be starting the first production run this week. If anyone wants to order one I am taking orders and will put the OLF'ers top on the list. The price is $269 plus shipping and this will include the base , the arm and a nylon base for your router. The router parallel is going to be adjusted to each router when mounted. again thanks for all your support to help Blues Creek Guitars get to where we are. routing binding and purfel channels. I think will come with a carriage so can setup body level so don't have uneven (not deep enough or to deep). Add to this, this type of rig is easy for setup, and you move the router around the body, not the body around the router, and it "floats" for lack of better term so get the even cuts with the radius top. |

Rich, There are pictures of what this kind of jig looks like in the Jigs Tools and Techniques section of the forum. Harry Fleischman started with the basic binding jig that Tom Ribbecke had designed and modified it so that the jig could move around the guitar instead of the guitar revolved around the jig. What Don Williams did was take Harry's design and refined it. Now John Hall and Craig Holden have added some more refinements...it is a culmination of all of the tweaks that have been added along the way s people thought about how to make it easier to bind just about any type of guitar. |
