I used to buy fossilized Walrus Ivory pieces from a vendor in Alaska, but haven't in some time. It appears that he either stopped selling, moved or closed his business under the name he was using.

Does anyone have a reliable source for Walrus Ivory pieces for pins, saddles and nuts?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions,

Hey Kevin, What about Bob Colosi over on the AGF? He is one of the sponsoring vendors and regularly offers pins and sadles in various materials. I have one of his walrus saddles in one of my Taylors.

Kevin--

I think that these guys are still in business and they'll do PayPal on web orders:

I have purchased a few times from www.scrimshop.com. Go to page 5 under the materials section and there are some workable pieces.

I have some from my knife handle business. The walrus piece is acrylic impregnated for stability. The other pieces are ancient mammoth, primo quality not stabilized. Not cheap, but if interested send an email...PM might not work.

Kevin,

Try David Warther at 330.343.1865. He's a good source for mammoth ivory as well.

Happy new year!
