Fostner? I been in machine shopes all my life darn near I kow what an F size bit is but F style is a new one to me.

Also, if you are looking for a bit to drill a hole for tapping, wouldn't a wire size (Number size) be better?  An F is .2570".

Anyhow, most any industrial supply house would have "Letter Sized" bits. McMaster Carr has them.

I dion't know where you live, but any machinists supply store, or industrial tool type place would have them, if you want to buy one locally.  You are probably looking at something in the $2.00 to 10.00 range, depending on manufacturer.

Any machinist supply house McMaster-Carr. It will be a specialty bit for pre-drilling for taped threads.

The truth is, if you are going to tap the hole, a 1/4" would work just as well.  The tap would take out the difference of 7/1000 of an inch.  Particularly if you are in soft material.  Plastic, Lexan, Nylon, aluminum, cold rolled steel.  Just lubricate well when tapping.
