Shane,

I have a need for quilted bubinga bindings. Do you have any or, with all those sets you have, do you happen to have an orphaned side that I could turn into bindings?

Thanks,
Pat

Hi Pat, I need to process some black acacia bindings in the next couple of days and I was planning on doing some bubinga at the same time. So I can process them. They will be (for the Swap meet) $3 per piece. Now, if this works for you, do you want whiter sap wood or the darker heart wood?

Thanks

Shane

Hi Chris, these are slabs, .875 x 5.875 x 16 (approx).

Thanks Chris

Shane,
would you do 5 sets for $75 + shipping?
chris

You bet Chris!

Thanks

What I'm looking for are some inexpensive tops that are ukulele size. In fact, I believe others are looking for the same. Looking for 14" long and 10"-10.25" wide. Two pieces or one piece of Lutz, spruce, cedar. I can accept some color as long as the tops as stiff. Looking for clean wood with no defects since I won't be painting mine black like Hesh.

Philip,

I just sent a few sets off to Kerry Char for Ukes. So here is the deal. I have about 50 or so sets that have an issue for guitars but they can be reprocessed to uke or mandolin sets. I saved a bunch for some projects I am thinking about as well. Anyway, they are $15 per set and some will make mastergrade small instrument sets. Since I will not be reprocessing these they will be shipped in guitar sizes so shipping to the US will be a minimum of $15 so buying one set may not be the way to go.

Thanks

Shane

Shane,

I would like 4 sets please. A PM is also on the way.

Philip

Thanks Philip,

I will get this together and PM your the total.

I'll be wanting the darker heart wood. I don't know if it's fair to pre-order, but you can put me down for 10 now if it is.
Thanks,
Pat

Yup,

I would rather know how many you need right up front! I will put you down for 10.

Well, I guess I can't echo your attached photo back to you, but (off topic) I want to see a close-up of that incredible mosaic rosette!

(p.s. Did you get my email the other day?)

Sweet isn't it! Sadly I can't take credit for it's creation, that goes to my buddy Michael Collins. He put into a top of mine and it just arrived at my door one day. He is a pretty generous guy! I did get your email Dennis, I haven't had a chance to go through it all yet but I will be when I get back into truss rod thinkin' mode. Right at the moment I am running a small program on the CNC Machine. If it does what I hope then I will be posting a small product expansion in a couple of hours (or less!)

Post subject:  Re: Late to the Show...so..LET"S GO!

So, one of my good customers (I really don't have any other kind bliss ) asked if I was making radius sanding blocks. So, just cause I like trying new things, I guess now I am! These are the first ones that I have made on the CNC and I just did them tonight. These are made of Birch and this will be the wood I will continue to use:

Sandblock1.jpg

Sandblock2.jpg

The ones pictured here are all 16" radius. The two on the bottom are double sides, both at 16" (finer sandpaper will be added to the second side) and the two on the top are single radius, again 16". There are two lengths, 8" and 12". Now the beauty of these is that you are not confined to standard radii or even block length (I mill them 24" at a time). The time in CNC is really in the fixtures to hold work for machining and that is done. So now I will draw files for different radii and have them ready but if someone wants a radius not available elsewhere (or they just like shopping at HMTC :D ) then I can do that as well for no additional cost (except then it becomes available as a stock item). Here are the prices:

Single radius:
8" - $14.50
12" - $17.50

Double radius (same on both sides or a different radius on either side):
8" - $15.50
12" - $18.50

There ya have it! That is what I have been up to this evening!

Thanks

Hi Shane,

I will take 1 each of the 8" and 12" single sanding blocks. Can you add that to my Purfling order I PMed you about?

Thx!

Shane, those double-radius blocks are great! I'd like to get a 12" long block with a 16" radius on both sides.

Don't pack it up 'til we talk, though, as I'm sure there will be other goodies!

Sounds good guys, I sent a couple of PM's to clarify radius on the blocks (except you Dennis). I will go over the posts this evening and start to get things together for those that want it shipped. I will be adding some binding in the next couple of days....once I get caught up!

Thanks all

OK, send me 24 inches of brace wood at $2.25 per inch and an 8 inch sanding block with 16" radius on both sides for $15.50. Tell me what the total cost is with shipping to 55428 and I'll do Paypal.
Thanks

Hey Zach, they are 3". I can probably go to 3.375 with my fixture but would have to make a new hold down to go wider than that.

Thanks

Hi Shane,

I would like a:
Single Radius 12" - $17.50

Also - on the topic of Bubinga - am interested in a set of orphaned sides if available.
(from the full set I got from you this summer, the sides suffered a setback....)

Any deals on brace stock?

Post subject:  Re: Radius Sanding Blocks added on Page 2!

Hey Shane, let me know if you have yet another set of orphaned Bubinga sides (I have some that suffered a "setback" too).

Post subject:  Re: HMTC - Premium Bindings added on Page 2!

Here are four different woods/colours. All are $4 per piece and these are all premium figure. They are over .25 high and over .105 thick but have not been thickness sanded on the faces. They are right off the saw. (EDIT: I just went and sanded them, there are a few saw marks but mostly clean at .105")

Attachment:
Bindings.jpg

So from the left we have, red bubinga, white bubinga (the photo does not all show the quality of figure in the white stuff), curly acacia (Aussie Blackwood) and curly maple.

I have about 50 or so pieces of each of the bubinga and I have a few hundred pieces of maple and a couple of hundred pieces of acacia.

These will be the last items listed for the swap.

Thanks and I will start wrapping packages up!

Shane,
I'd like 15 of the red bubinga and 7 of the white bubinga strips.
