The following "package" will probably only be of interest to West Coast luthiers (CA, WA, OR, NV) due to size and weight. I can probably be enticed to deliver it on the West Coast for some gas money and a good burger. Please PM me with your email address for detailed photos as they are too large to fit on the OLF. Also, any questions via PM.

Thanks

SCM MiniMax Wide Belt sander 25x60" belt. 3 Phase power, but I have....
Kay Industries Rotary Phase Converter
Switch gear for the phase converter
100 Amp Cutler-Hammer circuit breaker
Approx 35' of heavy gauge wire from breaker panel to phase converter
Manuals, parts lists and some spare fuses plus a couple of belts.

This system will run on basic 220V house power if you do not have 3 phase available. The 100 amp breaker feeds the first switch box. It activates the phase converter, which switches through the second switch box to provide 3 phase power to the wide belt sander. The sander has it's own on/off switch, sanding belt on/off switch and 2 speed table belt. The sanding belt uses pneumatic pressure belt tension during the sanding process. The table is manually controlled for sanding thickness.
Weight is approx 1500 lbs for the sander (you can see it is about the size of a refrigerator) and 200+ lbs for the phase converter.
This machine is "low mileage", having been used only by myself and the late Lance McCollum. We have sanded sides, jointed backs and tops (with or without rosettes installed), binding, headstocks (with an auxiliary holding tray), stock for bridges, fingerboards, braces, trued neck blanks...just about anything you need sanded in luthiery, we have sanded.
The entire package is priced at $4,000.

Once you have a wide belt, you never go back! wow7-eyes

No no Hank! I meant, "Where's the Koa that you're going to sell at the Swap-a-palooza?" !

:D

But I'd die to be able to have room for & be able to afford a sander like that. Alas, my basement won't fit it and my checkbook can't pay for it!
