Could anyone tell me or give me a rough estimate of how wide and thick side braces should be for an SJ or a Taylor 14 series to be exact. Thanks for the help. blessings, Ross |

Ross, some people make 'em as thin as popsicle sticks and others use cloth patches if that hekps |

I like 3/16 wide x 1/8 deep. Tappered and tucked in to the linings. I have used as thin as .04 deep. for me they are only to stop a side crack from migrating past the nearest brace so strength is not an issue since it carries no real load. |

My Collings D-2H has two per side, on the flats. I'm using 3 per side on mine - 1/4" wide and about 1/8" thick. -Mark |

On my latest guitar I'm using 4 per side 1/4" wide 1/4" high, tapered and tucked at the ends, tapered cross section, alligned with the back braces. Al |
