... A sharp chisel: While carving braces there is no other feeling like using a freshly sharpened chisel. Sharpening is a chore that most of us don't like but I have learned it's much easier to use a sharp chisel than a dull one. So, I keep a hard black (Dickey) Arkansas nearby .

... Opening up the bender and NOT seeing a side cracked. My light bulbs have let me down quite a bit lately so I have taken the plunge to heat blankets. Life is much beter now!

Talking about that Arkansas Stone for sharpening, I know right where that was mined on Highway 7, North of Hot Springs.

#1 On my list is a clean shop (rare, but occasional)

#2 A new commission (I get to eat)

#3 Getting a shipment of tonewood (always fun)

Getting a shipment from my favorite Zoot dealer.
He knows who he is.

I had never broken a side for many years using my Fox bender but along came the OLF Guitar and I cracked one. So I bent another set and sent if off. The next set I bent I cracked one again.

Not sure what I was doing or not doing but I too bought a heating blanket and all is well again.

Receiving the materials for a new guitar. (like Christmas everytime).
The body is together and ready for the neck.
First chord on the finished guitar(and no buzzes).
Somebody hears it and says can you make me one just like that one? (yes!!!!)

well I guess next to bindings well mitered, is seeing the UPS or Fed-x truck pull up...usually means I 'm getting something that I really don't need but HAD to have!

I love the sharp chisle, but for me the proper m&t cuts and proper neck set, with good heigth at bridge right off the bat. got easier with the great setup from mark k. oh yea, carving necks, that for me is just a nice way to hang out in the shop and work the wood

1. Switching from light bulb to a heating planket and watching the sides ooze over the form almost without any clamping.

2. Having someone come up to you at a performance and ask you what brand of guitar that is. And, you get to tell them.

Yes, it is a heavily chambered LP with F holes. Coco carved top, on a mahogany body. Probably Fralin pickups.
