Arnt: well, I'm stuck until my Father retires properly (instead of retiring, then going straight back to work as a consultant..), at which point they'll probably settle into their house in Italy (ie, the 'dream home' they bought after 30 years of saving and living the multinational-moving-a-lot-lifestyle). This place doesn't have the space for much heavy metal machinery, but there will be a bandsaw. Oh yes.

i can see it now, he'll pioneer using truss rods to align bones glued with ca, or some equally outrageous thing!!

but some bone chisels and hammers are quite good for working wood.

congratulations on your accomplishment mattia, and best wishes in your effort to lern how to exist without sleep!

Mattia, I wasn't kidding about your wood stash!! Please give us the heads up as to when your internship is up -- my fear is that once that is up -- with more time and disposable income in hand that you'll move the tonewood market.

Moving in the with folks or with anyone else for that matter after all your years of school will take some getting used to. Your mom will get used to sharing her fridge with your CA and hide glue

If interning out your way is anything like it is in North America I don't think you'll be seeing much of your folks before they move to Italy.

All the best to you -- if you approach medicine with the same passion as you do in building guitars -- we'll be getting one heck of a doctor!

Interning's been...made less insane here. As in, not working 90 hours/week every week.

Hesh: I get to pick a speciality after the two years. First, a bit of everything.

Good luck, Mattia.
Suppose rib bones might make good bracing? They`re pre-arched.

Mattia,

So does this mean you now have your own supply of bone for nuts and saddles? If we see you in the business of selling nuts and saddles anytime soon, people are going to become suspicious!

Well done, Mattia!
We're all proud of you, and will be able to say we knew you "when".
At the news of your house purchase, my first thought was that we could have a proper visit when we cross the pond.... Then the medical school looming near sort of blew that idea out of the water.
Oh well. We'll stop by the hospital and wave some time!

Steve

Don't you just love it when a plan starts coming together? Congratulations on your progress thus far, and good luck in the future. Oh, and remember, when you're on duty in the emergency room, a wash coat of shellac seals, protects, and makes everyting look better!
