thats one fine looking guitar you got there.. And maybe the perfect sized too. I can't wait to see it finished and hear your thoughts about is sound. I am just begining to put a shop together again, thanks to you for some great photos of your for help in that reguard. I am thinking the OM will be the first I try, but I may put a few dulcimers together and see if I can't raise some funds for all the new forms and radius dishes. I have the forms and jigs for an archtop. Not the OM. Your guitars have been and are continuing to be an inspiration to me.

Clean!! Just what I like, understated beauty. Clean fretboard, almost minimalistic appointments, I think you will be quite happy when it is finished and strung up.

Good job.

Hesh here's a little history on that walnut. A gentleman in Lockport NY had two walnut trees on his property cut down. He hired a guy with a Wood Mizer portable saw mill who cut it into 2" thick slabs. It was stickered, covered and air drying for 6 years when I bought it. It should look gorgeous under Tony's beautiful finish.

Hesh it will darken. But IMHO Black Walnut is a very beautiful and rick looking wood. I think your going to like it a lot. Air drying preserves the colors in walnut where as the steam intoduced in kiln drying tends to wash them out some.

That looks really light for any walnut I've seen. I thought air dry made walnut dark and steam lightened it?

   It sure looks good!

Really sweet Hesh. Are you building full time now?? You seem to be knocking them off quickly.

I like it! (And won't you be embarrased if it sounds better than any of your flashier guitars? )
So no trim at all on this puppy and it looks pretty good as is. For a progressively designed guitar I am all for any trim that works but this one I wanted a traditional, hint of Spain, look.
Spot on Mate! You nailed the hint of Spain. Guess I am just a simpleton, but for some reason that appeals to me.

Isn't that cool! Having the history behind the wood from the man himself.

Hesh, I'll bet you'll be very pleasantly surprised whith it under finish. That back has a multitude of colors going for it.

Maybe you should ask not to have any update pics and just see her once totally done. That would be like seeing something for the first time...

Hesh you'll like the sound of walnut, or rather the lack of sound, lets the top do it's thing.
