Bob Cefalu donated a very pretty set of Lacewood for our auctions. This stuff builds very beautiful guitars. I included a couple of pics from one of John Mayes' recent creations for inspiration (hope you don't mind John).

Good luck. The auction ends Wednesday @ noon.

Does the winner get a pair of tweezers with that?

Don has very thin skin and gets slivers very easily.
Just kidding Don. You do get a lot of slivers haddling this wood if your not careful but it's worth it. It's fantastic tonewood and makes a lovely guitar as John Mayes beauty verifies.

What are the dimensions on these?

I was planning on rosewood back and sides for my ABG project but I have always admired nice Lacewood!

$40.

Can someone tell me about lace wood in terms of tone?

I suspect it is somewhere between rosewood and mahogany like all other woods.
Kind of like when asking what some strange meat takes like - the answer is always it tastes like chicken.

John Greven describes it as imparting the tone of a well-aged Martin mahogany guitar to a brand-new instrument. Sounds good to me.

Allright, I can't just let this auction sit there at $75. I'll make it $80. Now, let's keep this bidding going!

What happened to "going once, going twice" ? I demand a re-auction!
