Looks like some fine folks are all signed up! I hope we get a few more, but this is a great bunch. I'm really glad that Jim Worland is coming, you guys will love his harp guitars.

Hello this is Susan Galloup.

For those of you attending the Coopers Glen Festival in kalamazoo I need some information for the program "if there is one featuring luthiers".

Please send me the following:

1. name
2. address
3. website address
4. email address
5. instruments you build...classical, steel string, archtop, mandolins etc
6. Brief bio (one paragraph) anything you would like to share about yourself.

Please email this to me at susan@galloupguitars.com and under subject please write Coopers Glen so I do not confuse this with other emails.

Looking forward to seeing all of you in January!

Since I am a hobby builder who is mostly looking to show a couple of guitars, my table just might become an unofficial or even official OLF gathering place and any other amateur who wants to display a guitar there or hang out will be welcome. Maybe we could put any other hobby builders tables in the same general area of the hall.

Are you all getting ready for the big show? I can't wait to see everyone, and all of the stuff you'll bring with you!

I have not heard anything about paying for the table or the times to be there etc. have I missed something or is this normal.
Where are you all staying, the hotel prices where the event is are a little high for am old retired guy like me, plus my 80 cent value Canadian Dollar.

I'll be checking with Susan and Bryan on Monday, and when I find something out I'll post it here, or they will!
As far as staying, I'm just getting a cheapo room somewhere! <G>

Hey! I wanted to thank Bryan and Susan, and all the folks at Cooper's Glen and GLAMA, thanks for having us! We had a great time didn't we? Thanks also to EVERYONE who came and helped out, we will do it again next year and it'll be even better- with less snow, I promise. (right...)

Mark...glad to see you made it home safely. Joe and I had an uneventful drive back to Indiana...but there sure was a lot of snow!

I thought the event was exciting as far as the the musical program was concerned. As far as the luthier attendance, it was rather sparsely attended...much of it weather-related for sure. Nonetheless, it's always a pleasure to hang out with OLFers anytime. Next year, I'll go on Friday, stay for the entire program and attend all of the musical events.

According to my mental list, the luthiers in attendance were : Bryan Galloup, David Collins, Fred Tellier, Mike Frank, Mark Swanson, Lance Kragenbrink, Brock Poling, Tom Harbin, Joe White, JJ Donohue. There were 1 or two others whose names escape me.

Anybody have any pics they care to post?

Hi

I just got home a couple hours ago, the rodes were great today, but I am glad I was staying over Saturday night. I took my guitars back to my cheaper hotel about 5 pm Saturday and the 1 mile drive was bad enough. I also had a great time and enjoyed making some new friends.

Thanks to Brian for arranging this great event, and to the festival organizers for bringing in the great musicians they had.

JJ, do you mean to tell me joe was quiet? beehive HE must have slept all the way laughing6-hehe

Jake Robinson was there as well and a mando builder that I didnt get a change to meet. Bill Wise from Charis guitars was also in attendance.

I also want to think Bryan for getting the ball rolling on this! I think its the start of something very special!

Great to see all of you!

Jim Worland, Paul Newson, and Mike Kemnitzer were also there. It was definitely a nice time - well worth the trip. No pic here either - of course left the camera at home.

I did take a couple of pics. I had so much fun chatting with everyone that I forgot to go around the room and photograph everyone.
I think we were at the start of something big though. When you add in the performances, workshops, hallway jam sessions, venders, scores of great players AND such a nice and accessible place, I think it's a hit!
As for my chatting, you guys realize I work all day all alone out in my little shop with nobody to talk to but me myself and I? laughing6-hehe

I took photos, but they didn't turn out!
I talked with Bryan today, and promised him that I would become more involved in putting this together again for next year. I hope we can make it a bigger and better deal....we might even get Hesh to show up! <G>
The music was quite enjoyable, too.
I especially wanted to thank and welcome Jim Worland, he drove up from west of Chicago! Most of you didn't know Jim, but I did and had invited him to come. I am glad he did. I loved that black and white guitar he had there, and the book he had with the photos of his harp guitars and so on was amazing! He's a quiet guy but a great addition to our group. I hope you all got to say hi to him.
We'll do this again folks!

I did not remember to take any pictures but shot this video of a couple ( Chuck and Cathy ) Carol and I met at Fridays concert trying out my Dreadnaught. The audio is not real great as it was taken with my Sony digital camera and not a proper video recorder.

Do we have a list of attendees yet for show later this month?

Joe White and I are planning to be there.
