I had a fella give me a stella resonater , I posted about it on an earlier post . When I took the plate off it had a large silver circle paited on the top of the guitar . laughing6-hehe
The owner still wanted it redone so the following pics will show the progress . I think its approx late 30's stella " Fake " Reso It now has a "decent" reso sound however in pics you will see why its called a redneck reso . Customer paid $200.00 for the work. Beer money Eat Drink but the challange was fun and i learned

And YES that is a $3.00 Metal Pie plate for a cone laughing6-hehe Its mounted on a Maple Dowel , and screwed and glued in place . and it works ! Its a Walnut top out of some 2nd grade lumber I had . and stewmacs stains and nitro laq.

On this one yes , it is a piece of ebony I made the bridge out of and glued it down directly over the srew that is holding the dowel for the " redneck cone" It seems to work nicely.

Keep in mind this does NOT have the sound of a "Quality reso" however it can be tuned and played and it does sound quite good for the way it was built. Keep in mind this was a rescue . The owner plays banjo , and he was quite happy with the sound it has . I doubt that I would "build" one in this fashion .
