Well summer has almost past here. Today was 99/100 degrees I'm sure we will get a few more. Tomorrow should be 80 for a high. Still no real rain. Had one day with some since June. :(

Things are really slow here. Not wanting to spend time in the shop either. When I do I usually have a scotch in hand ,sit, listen to blues and relax. Looking at the work that is sitting there to be done. No motivation? It's Bluesville in my shop. LOL!

What things I've been doing is off the beaten path. Some really weird requests and they want it for nothing.

How about everyone else?

Mike

Yes, everyone wants work done cheaply, but nobody understands how much work goes into the CAD/CAM end of things. I guess folks think you just get a project, wave your magic wand and out it comes in a few minutes! Logos are relatively easy, unless you don't have good artwork. But then some folks expect you to provide the pearl for next to nothing. Last I looked, that stuff has gotten very expensive! I could easily do logos and headplates for $20 each including the pearl, but one or two parts won't make you much money. But I'm also using my machine just to try to help my fellow luthier friends by offering a service of limited quantities that not too many folks are doing. But it's been reasonably slow. I'm finishing up a batch of 30 bridges for a guy now, and just also finished a half dozen for someone else. I have a couple templates to do for another friend and a fretboard and logo/headplate for one other person. After that, it's pretty dried up. That's ok, I have a few guitar projects I'd like to get back to as well.

I know what you mean Don. I have a guy that wants me to redo his plan for a UAV. Which includes adding the plans for weapons platform which includes Ar16s modified for a turret. That was a few days ago. I said no and suggested he contact the FBI. His response was he's legal and working on a project for ships to defend themselves from pirates. LOL!

Whatever, I will have no part in it.

BTW I fly RC aircraft as well as a hobby and make kits.

Then yesterday you see this zealot with his RC planes wanting to bomb things? I mean really, these people are nuts. The media being what they are just add to the BS fodder as well. So that's just one of the weird things that's been coming my way. :) It must be a full moon????

Ya, things are slower n
frozen molasses,
time is speedin up,
and me can't seem to get
as much done as me use to.

Is like this tune...

The mill shut down
and all them hippies came to town
whats a guy suppose to do?

The fishins all gone
and all me stuff is pawned
and me feeling mighty blue.

My roof shes a leakin
all me bones are creakin
and me mortgage is over due.

then the trains rolled away
and all them hippies stayed
and well I think I know what me gonna do.
