This was a challenging but fun project we did a while back...

Inlaying light colored woods into dark backgrounds is a LOT easier than dark woods in spruce.

Real nice concept, Tim, and nicely executed, too.

Thanks for the kind words guys... Herein lies the difficulty ... Mary wakes up in the middle of the night and begins frantically sketching this theme on paper. The next morning she says "I've got [gears] in my head and you have to build this". "I know you can do it.". I am flattered that she has that kind of confidence in my abilities but sometimes I wonder if she really grasps the enormity of taking something from her mind and making it a reality. None the less ... this is the result from concept to execution. I can't begin to count the hours in this project... [uncle] I think I burned a few fingerboards, peg heads and at least two tops in the process. Granted, for you pro CNC guys this is nothing compared to some of the amazingly complex stuff you guys do, but this project was a real challenge for this grumpy ole' sawdust maker.

I'm worried that you push a button on that guitar and it starts making people.

Yes, that's nice, but can you now make the gears actually turn...
