I made this little video to help some of my mini-plane customers with their sharpening. It is pretty basic but may be helpful to someone. If you have any questions please ask away.

Excellent Stephen, appreciate your taking the time to do this and looking forward to other videos. I really like the simple idea of making a jig to shorten the process as well.

Thanks from me too Stephen! [:Y:]

The sharpening video is excellent and I appreciated how you showed the use of the Veritas angle thing and how to make our own too. That will be a big help to me.

Also I have no idea when you started offering your very cool looking little planes but I just went to Tracy's site, Luthier Suppliers (link above at top of page) and ordered one.

I use finger planes for probably 85% of my brace shaping and I am looking forward to receiving one of yours and seeing how it helps me build. It's a nice bonus too that your planes come complete with iron and razor sharp and ready to go. You've addressed every conceivable concern that this customer may have had.

Thanks again my friend! [clap]

Thank you, thank you, thank you everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My first cut of the sharpening video was 1/2 hour long! I had to edit a lot of stuff and really trim it down to the most necessary things to fit in the 10 minute time frame. The whole deal took about 15 hours.

The next video set that I plan is making regular wooden hand planes and how to keep them tuned up. I see a lot of threads about which hand plane to purchase but I think that it is more satisfying using a plane you made yourself.

As a disclaimer I must say that I have three drawers full of hand planes that I have purchased over the last 15 years or so and I love everything I have made by Lee Valley.
