Hey all,

Rosette and circle cutting using a laminate trimmer.

Here's how I adapted the Stew Mac rosette and circle cutting jig for my laminate trimmer. The stew Mac jig is great - but it's only set up for their dremel plunge base. I wanted to be able to use my laminate trimmer instead.

Their jig is super slick and well worth the price.

I match drilled a 1/4" thick piece of Lexan to the holes in the router base.
Then I match drilled and countersunk 2 additional holes in the Stew Mac base. This lets me use 3 of the 4 holes in the router base.
Fit it together and cut a slot for the adjustable tongue to slide in and out
Then - a few flat head screws to hold the whole thing together.

Once it was all fitted and verified - I superglued the lexan adapter to the circle jig so I don't have to fidde around trying to remember how the holes line up...

Note - you will have to make a 2nd shorter center pin out of a drill bit or dowel pin for smaller holes.

And here's an action shot.

Pretty cool! That looks like the famous brand of circle cutter everyone was talking about in a recent thread.

Except that this "famous brand" circle cutter retails for $81.00 and arrives in 3 days. Add a $2.00 piece of lexan and a couple screw holes and you are in business.
