Okay, so I am just about ready to purchase the first kit. I would really like to do a moderately serviced kit (tops and backs joined and sanded, fretboard slotted, sides NOT bent, neck NOT carved) but I would really like to build an OLF MJ. I know that the LMI Kit Wizard is most likely able to handle this but are there others that would be able to do this? I am all for supporting the suppliers of this great Forum. Is this doable?http://www.luthiersforum.com/forum/posting.php?mode=post&f=10122#

Actually LMI are not able to handle this for several reasons. First their neck, neck block, bacing will not match the plans. Plus they do not have bending molds to match my MJ body shape. No one has commercial rights to produce kits for OLF-MJ, OLF SJ or OLF-OM at this time as far as I know unless Lance and Brock have contracted with someone that I am not aware of. Be aware that you need the top and back plates to be at least a good 8 1/2" wide as the finished lower bout is 16-1/4"

If you will get the wood togather ( thinned to .08-09) I will bend the sides for nothing except shipping expence. you can get the plans from Stewmac. I have a neck blank Mahog/Rosewood/mahog I wuld be willing to sell and i can provide fret wire the neck is only band sawed it would need shaped and tenon cut.
