I am trying to install a Floyd Rose on my project guitar. How do I determine the right spots to drill for the bridge posts? The scale length of the guitar is 24.75".

Search online. Is it a Floyd, or a copy? You should be able to find instructions online. Scale length is relevant, but there's more too it than that.

Hey guys,

StevenWheeler: that's what I used to find the scale length!

dberkowitz: it is a copy

My main issue is how to I find the right spots to drill vertically. Aside from measuring the bridge slots on the bridge itself, what else can be done to ensure that where I am drilling are the correct spots for the bridge to sit parallel to the end of the fingerboard with the right string spacing so that neither of my e strings are hanging over the edge of the neck?

BE very careful, there are at least 3 versions which are all different,
by a 1/4 inch, not using the correct one will make it wrong and you will not have
the adjustable room to intonate sufficiently.
Its worth it to do a complete mock up if your unsure and it is difficult to know as the tolerances are so close.
