I've had a few large es335 sized semi hollow bodies warp to a slight concave C shape. (Concave when looking at the top and convex from the back) In order to avoid this I'm considering making my semi hollows with a completely separate 2 piece back in addition to the two piece top. I would get thinner stock and simply route the hollow portions of the body clear through the slab. I would then attach the top and back. Does this make sense? Do any of you do this method?

When I build a 335 clone I do it more or less like Gibson does with the center block and kerfed top and back filler pieces

I think what you are talking about is what I call a chambered solid body - I made one Les Paul clone that way
