A mandola is only about 20 1/4" scale. Never heard of a bass mandola. Are you maybe talking about a mandobass? I know D'addario has mandobass strings. if so that has about a 42" scale. Would be pretty hard fingering notes in an electric style instrument position...Mike

wonder if a guy could use those strings and reduce them down to a little longer scale than 20-1/4 the other question would be the fret board spacing . alot to consider .

I bet those strings would be to big ? have to check the guage .

Can it be done yes can it be done effectivly to make a quality sounding "mini bass" there is million dollar question

did some looking at the MandoBass that Gibson did in 1920's I think this can be done . well I am open to ANY suggestions that anyone might have on this project .
