Hello everyone,

I'm new here. Not sure if this is the right category but o well. I'm having some problems routing the binding channel. I've tried several different methods and havent got a very good result. What is a good jig thats kind of stupid proof (if there is such a thing)? Thanks for the help

Well, I think you'll find that binding guitars, or specifically, routing out the channel is very high on the 'stress inducing procedure' for most builders.

From personal experience, I prefer a jig that will register from the side of the guitar. IMO, it's easier to have a consistent channel that way. I did build a jig for this, however, I'm at work and I don't have any pictures with me here. I will try to dig those up tomorrow.

It's also a good idea to use a kind of tool to score around the top, back and sides to avoid any kind of blow-out... I use a Gramil.

Good luck!
