Hey All,

I believe this is the right place to put it all.I'm returning to Luthiere after 15 year break!

Specifications are: -

    Mahogany body
    Flame Maple top
Flame Mape neck, carbon reinforced, dual action truss rod
    Hardware undecided

The templates came from Portugal and proved to be very accurate and well worth the money.

Here's some first shots : -

Love me some Jazz bass goodness. My favorite Fender body of all time. I've had..... how many? Half a dozen at least.

Thanks guys. Some appreciation from over the pond!

Further thoughts, No scratchplate (not with a flame top!)... EMGs or Seymour Duncans... Possibly a Ghost Piezo bridge as well. The Mahogany will have lightening holes cut as already it weighs a ton!

It will have the bout cut at the rear, but no forearm chamfer. Yes I could 'bend' the flame over it, but my flame is 8-9mm thick, to allow for some subtle carving. Ebony board with some fancy MoP inlay will do nicely. Gotoh machine heads... Lemon yellow stain on the flame, cherry red subtle sunburst and no binding - the edge of the Maple will be good enough. Nitro Cellulose gloss to finish.

Here's the top:-

Spent loads of time making a jig for lightening holes. Tried the first rout:-

Tough stuff to rout, particularly on end grain! The trick is to drill out as much beforhand of course.

One thing I find a bit of a pain here is resizing graphics to get them to fit properly here (I teach IT so that's not the issue). Does the forum software not resize them?
