If Filippo is honest he will not be reading your post, Tony. By posting that you already assume he is gonna cheat. Geesh Tony have some faith. laughing6-hehe

Woohoo! Glad you're back in. And you know, you could save an additional ~$7 by switching to an Allied truss rod, since they're only $16 or $17 if bought 6 at a time. But no matter, I still say don't worry about it in any case.

Looks like an awesome build. Also cool that arch top/flat back instruments seem to be catching on. Well, at least Phillip's winning uke last time was that style, and now this. I've always thought arched backs on guitars seemed like a whole lot of wasted work and wood. I mean sure, it makes it look like a violin, but I can't see any sonic benefit. It makes sense in bowed instruments since the soundpost needs a strong surface to anchor against, but a flat plate with braces seems more effective for the function of guitar backs.

Now... prepare to be defeated

So I just did up my price list and I'm REAL close... But will be over depending on some questions:
- does finish count as a material, or does it fall into the 'glue, tools, etc' bucket?
- what do you do for negligible stuff like plywood tail block, nut/saddle material I was given by a friend, bracing from a home depot red spruce 2x4 that was like 10' for a couple bucks..?

I am Assuming Phillip is running this like I did , so the Nitro would count , as far as the misc stuff , follow the spirit of the build and your concience . I really dont think that getting that picky about a plywood tail block is necessary . This is about enjoying the builds . Getting TO detailed robs from that .

That is a nice fretboard.

Chris I really like your ideas that fret board is amazing! I'm not sure if I understood the location of your flower inlay but if it were me I wouldn't touch that fret board it has such a natural design aesthetic.

Was that tumbleweed passing through? I was super stoked for this build but it seems nobody cares about it. Darn the irony.

Just try to keep more people interested than I have and you'll be fine. Nobody, but nobody cares about my ukulele build. True story.

Those are some tight bends in the horns. We're they hard to bend? Looks good.

This is looking good. I like that shape, it works nicely for acoustic as well as electric.

Gee's Louise the competition is tough for this one!

That's the most complicated head block I think I've ever seen.

What is the fretboard wood? Looks amazing.

Looking great. Nice sharp point on the volute. I'm still finishing up my build too. Way to keep going.
