Sorry, I totally forgot about the deadline! Hope it's not too late. :? This is what I've been calling a quinto guitar. It's basically a 3/4 size steel string guitar, but I've actually got it tuned 4 semitones higher than standard. I chose the body size to suit the wood I had! It's all been salvaged from bits of furniture and scrap. The soundport design is blatantly copied from Michi Matsuda! It also has carbon butress braces to support the double cutaway body.
Specs:
Parana pine top
Bubinga back
Mahogany sides and neck
Spruce (I think) bracing
484mm scale length

Ladies and Gentlemen, please allow me to introduce you to the parlor guitar I built as a gift for my friend John Sprott. You've seen it before, and it is my design that borrows from both the C. Bruno and Sons and Martin Size 2 of the late 1800's. The guitar is constructed with a bearclaw Sitka spruce top and bracing, and Bolivian Rosewood (Pau Ferro) back and sides. It has a mahogany neck, and Pau Ferro headplate. The fretboard is ebony, and the bridge is Brazilian Rosewood dyed black to match the fretboard. The top is adorned with herringbone purfling and rosette, and flamed maple binding. For the greatest viewing enjoyment, please watch the soundclip video in full size HD if you have a broadband connection. Please enjoy, and thank you for your votes.

My understanding is the deadline for the contest is today, I guess I won't have an entry for this one. I've still got to do my finish and make my nut, and string, wire, setup and record a video.... lol. I'll be a while yet.

Congratulations to all the challenge builders/finishers. Hard to pick who to vote for.

I almost wish I had remained in the running. We just had our monthly East Tennessee Luthiers Guild meeting Sunday afternoon. Nick has had strings on for 5 weeks, I've tweaked the neck relief a couple of times and really went over the frets/setup. One of the attendees sat down with my "mud burst" Nick and really tore it up, she asked a bunch of questions about scale, why I went with a 13 fret neck etc. Turns out she had just bought a Santa Cruz H-13 and she claimed she like my #2 better, as far as sound, action, my neck, and string tension. I'm sure the H-13 looks quite a bit better. #2 has a 24.750, scale, the H-13 25.4.
