When you buy a saddle from Stew-Mac or any supplier "pre-shaped" on some guitars they are too long. I assume you want to cut off equal proportions on each end. Is this correct? Jeff B.

Pre-made saddles rarely fit well and not just length either. We make every saddle that we replace out of bone. Not difficult, kind of relaxing, sonically excellent (bone), and you can also compensate in a manner that the specific instrument my benefit from.

What kind of guitar?
