It's an Epiphone. Who cares? It's like the Ovation of the electric guitar world.

Not quite, Don..... But I take your meaning.

I am currently the top bidder on said Epi, and I sent the link to Mr. Bacon because he's successfully repaired more than one of these Epi LP's in the past.

Ha! I laughed when I saw the first picture with the duct tape, then I realized they are just trying to keep from losing any of the splintered pieces. Then it looked like a good idea,

I've got poor man's/Luthier's.... 335 by Ep*phone and they can be pretty nice once you set them up well and replace the electronics. I picked it up for my friends to play when they come over so they don't have to schlepp anything to my place. And yup, it's a black one too.

Duct tape is never a good idea on headstock, neck breaks. The residue requires naphtha to remove and that can soak into the wood/joint and contaminate things needlessly.

We advise folks to reduce tension, support from all side, don't mess with it and get it here soon.

I am far from a repair guy, but that break looks to me like a clamp-up nightmare.

Nah, it won't be that bad. It'll take a little more time and I'd have to make a little bit bigger caul, but it should come together well.

Hesh, I think that's the R2 duct tape reissue.

Chris likes to tantalize me with these things...
