Hello :)

My brother-in-law bought an early '70s Ibanez 2351 (Gold Top) and wanted to make a reliable, player guitar out of it.
I'm going to help him with that by swapping the tuners (Hipshots with the UMP, so no new holes), new brass nut, new pickups (only the neck is original on the guitar, the bridge was swapped at some point, but he will keep it of course) and the guitar needs a refret.
And that's exactly what my question is about: I pulled one fret out to measure it with a caliper and the tang is ''bald'' (no barb on the sides) and measures 0.030''. Now, my borther-in-law wanted to put in the Jescar EVO frets in it to complement the gold top, and the closest thing I found was this https://www.jescarguitar.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/J-FW55090-250.pdf
The tang is 0.025'' but with the barb' on the side it measures 0.037''... Is that too wide and will it push the fretboard into ''compression''? Should I opt for something slimmer like that https://www.jescarguitar.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/FW55090.pdf?

Thank you all in advance for your suggestions!

p.s. I added a picture of the guitar for your viewing pleasure :)

Hello :D

I just went back and measured the fret slot with feeler gauges and it is 0.026'' wide.
Just thought it was worth mentionning :)

Thank you again!
