I have a Triton PRA 001 powered respirator. I need replacement rechargeable batteries, which are built into a unit, so I cannot just go to the store and buy batteries. Apparently, this respirator and all its parts are no longer made. I cannot find a source for parts. The company referred me to an online parts supplier, who doesn't have a clue what I am asking for, i.e., they don't have it in their catalog.

So, if anyone knows of a source that actually has these batteries for this unit, please let me know.

Alternatively, if there is a similar brand belt pack supply fan/filter that I can hook up to my hood, please let me know. I cannot find any on an Internet search.

Lacking the above, if you have any recommendations fo another brand for an entire unit, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

I have had rechargeable battery packs rebuilt. It was a while back, but one of the battery shops did it.
I think they just configure replacement cells as necessary and solder them together.
There are a number of you tube videos on DIY.
Google rebuild rechargeable battery.

Looking at the manual those appear to be standard sub-C nicads with solder tabs -- just check the actual battery dimensions -- there are a zillion nicad configurations all are 1.2 volt just make sure they have the solder tab. Here's one source and there are many!

I did what Ken suggests with my 3M Air-Mate respirator several years ago.
Couldn't find a replacement battery assembly, so I took the Air-Mate box
apart and found it used three Ni-Cad C-cells. Found similar batteries on the
web, and replaced the originals with them.
