Hello

I am new to the forum and apparently, there is no sub-forum for new members intro (which is not a problem btw).

Anyway, I am meaning to finally fulfill my dream for this hobby. I am big on bandsaws and I am hoping I can get help from the wonderful people on this forum.

I'll just echo this.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.
