Goodness! is that an 18" jointer!!! Amazing!

On the Harbor Freight calipers - the price is right and the return policy advantageous. But for some unexplained reason, HF kept making the display text size smaller and smaller... even my older calipers seemed to have some odd software change pushed to them which shrunk the font size! My solution was to go to the iGaging EZCal, but even those sneaky engineers have managed to make their display font a bit harder to read over time. Mr. Stock suggests it might just be my eyes, but as I stopped aging when I started celebrating anniversaries of my 40th birthday, I think that unlikely.

I find here in the UK that digital callipers have a pretty short lifespan. Then as Brad says they do get an awful lot of use - for small measurements I barely use a ruler anymore. And they aren't cheap!
