Amazon.com has a sale on the Jet 14" 1 HP band saw below. Any experience or comments on this saw? Seems like a good price on it. http://www.amazon.com/708115K-JWBS-14CS-Horsepower-Woodworking-Graphite/dp/B00006ANS4/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top |

I am Industrial Dealer , And I do carry the Jet Products . The Price is Fair if they are paying shipping . Check the fine print. Make sure. I saw one like it on ebay for $599.00 but no mention of shipping . The upside of Jet is that you CAN get parts when /if somthing breaks . The thing that most people dont realize is that WMH tool group owns Jet / Wilton / Powermatic all three . So as a decent saw , yes it will probably serve you well. The graphite guides I am not sure about you may end up changing those . Hope I shed some helpful light for u. All that being said , I have a delta That I purchased used . I do have several Jet products however and they have given me no trouble. |

Had one. It's o.k. but I ended up selling it for a Rikon 14" which is much better. IIRC I paid only around 700 or 800 for the rikon which is very close. If you buy the jet, you'll quickly be dumping money into it for blade guides, riser block etc. and it still won't be as good as the Rikon. |

Todd Stock wrote: The guide blocks on the Jet 14" saws can be a problem - if you do go with the Jet, you may wish to switch to genuine Cool Blocks or make your own out of lignum. I've been happy with my 14" Jet Deluxe. I can't speak to resawing, but spend the $15 and order a set of Cool Blocks when you order your saw. The Jet blocks didn't last long at all, but the Cool Blocks have been serving me well for two years of occasional use with little wear. |
