Post subject:  What's a "Hesh" - Revisited

Hi all,

After reading Hesh's tag line I noticed that he's just crossed over the 5000 OLF posts line. Wow that's impressive. There was a post a while back that, quite seriously, asked the question, "What's a "Hesh?"". The question was answered honestly but I always thought that was a missed opportunity. In honour of his OLF participation I propose a second definition as follows: "A "Hesh" is a measure of OLF participation. Those that have posted 5000 posts or more are said to have achieved a "Hesh".

I hope this is taken as the tribute it is meant to be and look for people to second the proposal.

Pat

Actually, Hesh lost more than that when the Forum transferred to the new system, or a name change, or some other reason. He's probably closer to 10,000 than 5,000. However, if you choose to use 5,000 as a milestone, change my rating to HESH!

I thought "Hesh" was defined as: a verb: the act of burning yourself on a bending iron in boxers in the bathroom.

Now that I've taken a closer look at his last few posts, I see that Hesh's counter seems to be stuck at 5001. Who knows what he's really at. I guess the best we can do is paraphrase McD's and say: "Thousands and thousands of people served".

Hesh is a two leg dust collector, I wish my shop was even 10% as clean as the Heshtone shop.

Also a great builder and willing to share his experiences with us all.

People claim to have seen sightings of a Hesh. Always with fuzzy photographs. I once got abducted by a Hesh and woke up naked in a field, then ten minutes later got possessed by a Hesh. I still have nightmares of black painted guitar shapes floating around my room at night.

Pat,

I heartily endorse your idea of 5,000 posts on the OLF achieving a "Hesh". Hopefully it will serve as a tribute to a great guy and an exceptional builder and friend. Long live Hesh!

I propose that in addition to the mere number value of 5000 posts, being a "Hesh" must also include that said posts are kind, generous, and supportive to all members. This place needs Hesh and is much better for his participation.

Yeah, yeah......... Hesh this and Hesh that. I let you guys in on a dirty little secret. You know that spotless shop Hesh is always showing off. It's a back drop. That's right, a move scene, a facade. I am probably not telling you anything new as most of you have figured this out. No human can keep a shop looking like that unless it is a facade. So the question begs: Where is he building those guitars ? I think it is right behind the back drop. A revolting unorganized unsightly mess with globs of glue everywhere, dust, cob webs, mold, mounds of saw dust the works. (Just like my shop)
It is clear to me he is ashamed of this mess and his poor work habits and is over compensating by building flawless guitars and hoping to distract us from noticing by being helpful and generous with his time and advice. Very sad.

I've tried at least 5 times now to weigh-in here and say thanks to you guys but every time that I do I kind of get a bit... well you know...

Seriously many, many thanks my friends this is very much appreciated. [:Y:] :)

BTW I had over 9,600 posts on the old iteration of OLF software and that total did not make it to the new software. So if you add 9,600 to my total listed below my avatar you have a more accurate post count for me... :) :D idunno So it's time to get busy making my next 15,000 posts.... :D

Thanks again - you made my week!!!
