Here's my latest completed build. It's based on a Manuel Ramirez 1912 flamenco plantilla. It was built for my youngest daughter. Hence, the small size. it has a fairly narrow, thin neck as well Despite its modest dimensions it has a pretty big voice with strong basses and fairly even across all the strings. Specs Type: Flamenca Scale: 650 mm Body: Palo Escrito Rosewood Top: Englemann Spruce Top Braces: Sitka Spruce Back Braces: Spanish Cedar Bridge: Madagascar Rosewood (Dahlbergia Boronii) Neck: Spanish Cedar Fingerboard: Gabon Ebony Head Veneers: Cocobolo Rosewood Bindings/Heel Cap: EIR Finish: French Polish of Shellac Here are the pics. She's beautiful Max. Everything looks very classy. That Palo Escrito Rosewood is beautiful. Great job on the finish as well. Your daughter is going to love it I'm sure!! |

I agree with Blain. The rosewood is nicely figured without being too bold and the heelcap treatment is a very nice detail. Kudos. |

Max, great pic of your daughter with her fine new guitar! That's a wonderful body size; about ideal to me. I feel closer to the music with a small guitar. Thanks for the info. |

Max, that's a lovely guitar. The Palo Escrito took me by surprise... I thought at first it was Bubinga. Maybe the lighting makes it look redder than normal, or is that a pretty true representation of the color? Whatever, it's really handsome. Steve |

Thanks for the kind comments! It is really encouraging to get good feedback from you OLFers. Steve - yes, the color in the photos is pretty true to actual. I think there is a lot of variation in Palo Escrito and I have never seen another like this one. Muchas gracias, Max |
