Looking at the issues is a fun blast from the past. And you are well represented in the magazines - I saw at least three articles by you and at least one interview - very interesting, particularly the What's Cooking article.

Thanks so much. I had totally forgotten about the Paul Chandler interview.

For anyone who does a lot of guitar electronics - the Mike Metz stuff is top shelf. He is a certified genius in amp and synth repair with over 40 years of experience. SIC was his springboard into writing for Electronic Musician, Modern Drummer, and Modern Recording.

At this point, the 14 issues from Dick Boak have been mailed out to over 50 people - most on the OLF. The link has gone dead, so if you want the files - contact me, and I'll start sending them out in dribs and drabs. Anyone made their own hard copies yet?

I would love to get these! Is there a cost involved?

Thanks.

Chris
This is a really cool project that you and the other contributors have undertaken. Thanks so much!
I would love to get copies when you have time to send them. PM sent.

I expect that one of the forums would happily give up a little bit of server space to save the full set of files and make them available for public access? But there would be issues of copyright to deal with - do you know who owns copyright for the original publication?

The Association of Stringed Instrument Artisans still owns the copyright (for making money).

Dick Boak has given his blessing to printing a few hard copies of SIC original 14 issues.

I checked with my local print shop - 224 pages in the original 3 colors, spiral bound between plastic covers. $50 each.
Will save you paper and printer ink. I'll have one made for me (since I gave my originals away) and a limited edition for whoever wants (I'll ship them free).

And they've been printed and bound....
Already sold 2 of them.

Still sending out these files via email to interested parties. Our own Fumblefinger got his this weekend. I still have two hard copies if you don't want to use your own printer and ink - $50 postpaid here in the lower 48. Send me a thumbdrive and I'll be happy to copy them and return them to you. Guys here on the OLF, the Seymour Duncan forum, and Mandolin Cafe have popped for them so far.

I have added burning CD's to my repertoire.... So, I can email 14 files to you over 3 days, you can buy the last book, you can send me a thumb drive which I'll fill and return in the mail, or I'll send you a CD via the mail. So many choices! Let me know.... By the way, I have no idea how many people have requested these 14 SIC files by now. I stopped counting at 70.

I could not for the life of me find it on that KGF site. I thought it might be under books or references but I don't see it.

It's under the "Special Guitar Tips" category.
