Our 10 yr old omega 4 in by 30 died this aft . Shopping around for a new one. Any recommendations? or your experiences ?? I was using it with a rtr speed control it goes to 300 deg f. TNX in advance. Would like to get a better quality one.

I have been happy with a Keenovo blanket and their controller. I am not a high throughput builder mind so can't talk to their robustness in a busy shop.
I am in the UK but imagine they are available where you are.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.
