So I decided to add a new model to my lineup…
So this is basically similar copy to 1930s small Stella guitar.
I love the way these guitars sound, look and play!
They are really loud, and have a dry boxy tone that is just great for the blues -
and other styles of music
I try to copy it pretty exactly as far as the size of the body ,brace size ,scale fretboard etc. etc. The only couple things I changed where I use more modern bigger frets I put a carbon fiber reinforcement the neck (no truss rod) nitro satin lacquer
I also use the compensated saddle we’re back in the day they didn’t do that
I made the depth about quarter inch deeper as well
Top is Adirondack ridge spruce
Back and sides or flamed red birch
Honduras Mahogany neck
Brazilian Rosewood had veneer, bridge and heel cap
Stew Mac golden age retro tuners with real mother of pearl buttons
Gabon Ebony fretboard
Nut width is 1-7/8”
Scale length 24-3/4”
Width at lower bout 13-1/4”
Depth at heel 3-1/2”
Depth at tail 3-3/4”

The first picture is 1930s still a guitar that I own that I use as a model.

The wide purfing is great--the flamed birch is perfect for that guitar too. Great job!

Beautiful Brad and inspiring. I love the small guitars. I've only built one similar, an 1-18 but plan on a few more.
