Knocked it out of the park again Brad.
Experience shows!

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

Congrats Brad, it looks really nice. I have a rock wall just like that in my house! I've been tempted to take pics like yours to see if we could start a trend:).

Beauty. I am at 87 with a goal of 100 before I croak.

That is a big accomplishment. Do you ever feel like you know less now than you thought you did at 50?

Yes and no....

Yes- I still surprise myself at the stupid mistakes I make.....

No- I finally don't have to figure out what the next step is.
I have a procedure for every step.... I didn't have this method at 50 so I lost a lot of time "reinventing the wheel" so to speak.
I also have many jigs that speed the process. some are very simple like a piece of sandpaper glued to a large piece of plywood that I use to fair down the lining to the sides.

So in summary a guitar that took me 100 hours at guitar #50 now take me 60 hours at #101

Congratulations, Brad. That's a major milestone. Guitar looks like a fine instrument, nothing flashy, by a mature builder.
