Post subject:  Dreadnought body depth

Hi,

I built a dreadnought 2 years ago with a plan I bought on GenOne. This DN has a body depth of 4 3/4'' at the lower bout and 3 3/4'' at the upper bout while the DN I played with were closer to 5'' and 4''. The difference is not huge but that guitar from the GenOne plan seems really shallow. This is not necessarily a bad thing but I'm about to start a new DN and I'm questioning myself about that aspect of the built and I was wondering if I would go for a deeper body shape this time. I would like some of your insight about that.

Thanks,
Dominic

Apples to apples: Make sure like is being compared to like: 3 3/4" in height at the neck block of the side alone is roughly the same as 4" at that location counting in the soundboard and back thicknesses.
