Hello - I'm new here and a newer guitar player...still learning! I decided to try a guitar kit (Telecaster style) Christmas gift to myself. After much searching and you tube watching I decided to use minwax stain, followed by Tru Oil. I assume my next step(s) would be to add some kind of clear coat after about 10-12 coats of Tru Oil. I'm on coat #3 of the oil. Question: what recommendations might you all have with regard to the clear coat? Poly...lacquer....? Spray or brush on? Thoughts? Thanks! |

No clear coat needed over TruOil. Steve |

10 to 12 coats of TruOil should be plenty. |
