Finished this one last weekend.
Khaya, Mahogany, Maple, Cebil.
String-through, 24.75” scale.
Dimarzio Air Norton and Tone Zone pickups.
I filed the frets down to 0.030” tall to try to emulate the fretless wonder feel. The action is very low with very little fret buzz and just a tad of relief.
I’m very happy with it and will file the frets down on my current build.

Archtop? What kind of neck joint? I'm thinking about building one, but not excited about carving the top although I want a carved top. So thinking about buying the body and making the neck.

Dan, have a closeup of the top?

Also, love the color of the mahogany back. Is the color in the finish?

Looks great! With an Air Norton and Tone Zone I’ll bet it’s got a rocking tone too!

Here’a a close-up of the top. I had a heck of a time applying the veneer. I did not think I could angle the body top to make the fretboard flush and then bend the veneer to match, thus the jacked-up bridge. I’m not a fan of TOM bridges.
This is a solid body flat top. Intentionally weighs a ton.

Thanks! I mixed red, brown, and yellow dye and applied it to the bare wood.

Thanks!
I tried Dimarzio on a previous build.
I was amazed at the sound, reminded me of 60’s rock sound.
I play relatively clean through an Orange tube amp.

Looks really great. I like the combination of non-traditional hardware, controls, and peghead shape, with the over-the-top visuals of the top veneer.
