My intention is to reveal the delegitimate position of Gibson, which I thought was fairly obvious. And it would be absurd to think that Martin is reading this forum and will take legal action based on my opinion.

In case you haven't kept up.... Gibson "won" their court case against Dean Guitars. They get $4000 and a promise from Dean to not make Explorer, Flying V, SG, and Dove body shapes. Gibson is going after Heritage Guitars next, and have threatened Collings, Eastman, and D'Angelico as well.

Gibson is well on its way to being the most hated guitar maker in the industry. The NAMM show next weekend should be a friendly place, huh?

I just gave a causal glance to the list of trademarks. It appears that they have a trademark on the belly bridge?

Also they have a list of "word marks." This list includes things like:
Artisan
Aeolian
Viola

Can they just trade mark English words? I'm not a fan of the now overused "artisan" but am I supposed to turn in every hipster I see? What if I wanted to take up the viola? Do I have to pay royalties to talk about it? :)

Maybe I need to Trademark Wudwerks huh pfft :D

I agree- stop the importation of counterfeits.
I’m not sure about the kits from Asia.
Rickenbacker kits and plans are seldom seen. I wonder why?

Easy. Ricks are less than 1% of the market. Who in their right mind wants to exploit that?
