Hi all

Let’s get this out of the way now; I’m quite, quite mad.

Right, now that’s done, I’m designing a 12 string (4x3) bass, but I’m having a tough time finding a suitable bridge and saddles. I’ve considered using an 8 string bridge and modifying it to take the extra strings, but I’m not having much luck there either.

2 real options are obvious;

1) Any recommendations?

2) Getting one custom made. If I’m going to do this, can anyone point me in the right direction for string spacing? I’m looking to tune it eeE aaA ddD ggG, likely with standard bass strings and heavy wound electrics for the octaves.

The other option I’m not entertaining is spending $800 on the only specialised one I could find.

Any help and advice is appreciated!

Thanks!

Does Dean sell parts for their current-production Rhapsody 12-string?

That’s a good shout. Couldn’t see anything obvious on their site, but I’ll send them a message. Thanks!
