Post subject:  Help to choose the right rotary switch

Hello, I have a friend with an Epiphone Thunderbird who want to modify its electronic setup.
He would a master Volume and Tone pot. And in the free hole put a 3-way rotary switch to select the pickup: neck, both, bridge.

I found this https://www.banzaimusic.com/3-way-rotary-switch.html

I have to check if the thread length is fine, and I'm a little worried about the solid shaft. Probably the rotary switch needs a new knob. A set screw knob will be fine? That Alpha rotary switch is smooth enough? I can't find easily alternative good quality rotary switches.
I hope that someone who knows that rotary switch can give me some advice.

Thanks!

I haven’t used that particular switch but Alpha components are generally reasonable quality. That said, I install very few as the component cost for someone replacing a pot etc is so small compared to the labour cost that most people choose to spend $2 extra for the “Cadillac” option of CTS or whatever.

Indeed, I suggest CTS for pots and Switchcraft jacks, with just some money.
But I found just Alpha rotary switch or generic brand, but I never bought it.
Once I bought one, pretty cheap, I think that was ok, but I cut the thread, a bit too much long, and you need some strength to turn it, almost impossible without a knob. But that was for a guitar pedal, so that was fine.
On a guitar, or bass in this case, I prefer something smoother and easy to turn.
