I am in the process of building an electric ukulele based on a Gibson ES 335. Like it's big brother it has a solid block running the length of the body and carved cavities either side. My previous build had intonation problems so this time I am considering a Benedetto style bridge so that I can shift it incrementally to help with the intonation. My question is that what I read these bridges are ideal on a acoustic guitar bringing the vibration of the strings down to the soundboard. My situation is different being a semi solid with pickups. Am I about to do something silly or do you think this is a workable solution.
Thanks for any advice you can give me.

No reason that won't work just fine. Just be sure that you get a bridge with the correct height.
