In terms of fixing the brace, you need to get into that gap between X brace and soundboard and clean out any old dry glue and dirt. Feeler gauges with sandpaper stuck on can help, or I often use cut up bits of old worn out dozuki saw plate - they’re thin and the teeth have minimal set and scrape glue out well. Then you can slide glue in there (again, use something like a feeler gauge to work it into the gap), clamp and clean up.

Then proceed as Barry advised in your other thread.

Brilliant thankyou, I've been failing to get started on this out of fear (well, and lack of time!) For ages now. I picked that little patch off with my fingernail. Brace first, then patch the crack! This is my sister's and she's currently without a guitar so she'll be so pleased.
