Small impact crack near the bridge on a cedar top. Not done any repairs but built maybe ten acoustics. Any ideas to start? Lightly built, fair bit of belly behind the bridge. Strings are slack but a bit of a crease with tension at the crack. Image

Any crease in that region is cause to check for a loose x-brace or tone bar internally. Especially after a sharp impact and definitely if you think you are seeing more belly than you should. Start with a really thorough internal inspection.

In regards to repair, determine if there is any internal reinforcement directly under the impact from bracing or the bridge plate. If not, then a small patch might be appropriate.

A steam dent removal process would probably bring the dent closer to level. Also, a little bit of CA would fill the remaining dent and bond the fractures.

Thanks Barry, I had to start a new thread to post the inside picture. Im feeling empowered! I'll try to post some more pictures, a lively handmade English guitar in classical style but for steel strings, cedar over Brazilian rosewood.
