Hi guys. Haven't posted much lately, but I've been busy. This is my tenth scratch built guitar. Some of you will notice that my owl logo is missing on this one. For this one build, I've replaced it with an eagle. This build is a gift for a Native American friend of mine (it's a surprise). The photos are the worst I've ever taken and the guitar looks a lot better than it appears here.

The back and sides are sycamore; binding and purfling and rosette are snakewood.. This material is from Uncle Bob C.

Top is bearclaw, master grade sitka from Steve R. at Colonial.

Mahogany neck, Schaller tuners.

Position markers are all eagles.

The inlay on the back is about 3 1/2" across and is the Great Seal of the Muscogee Nation.
This seal is all handcut in Vietnam (But not Andy's group) and is made entirely of mop and abalone. It looks amazing.

Also, the guitar sounds wonderful to my ears, very loud and rich.

Thanks for looking,
Ron

Very nice. Amazing inlay and bear claw. I also like the clean lines of your guitar.

That looks wonderful Ron!

Maybe you should call the sitka "eagle talon" instead of bear claw :)

You're friend is going to be blown away!!!!

Thanks a lot, fellows, I'm really proud of this one.

That bearclaw IS very special. I bought 4 sets of it from Steve two or three years ago when I went by his place in Virginia.

Nice job Ron! Where'd you get the eagle inlay. Looks familiar, just can't remember where I saw it.

Billy !!!!

Wonderful to see you pop up. The owl will be back, this was a one time thing.

Terry, the eagles and the custom piece on the back all came from here:

Thanks, sneezy. We could probably swap emblems. Way down here in Arkansas we have quite a few Canadian geese and a lot of beavers. [headinwall] They both drive me crazy.

Ron, come a bit farther south and you can fight Armadillos with your east Texas cousins!

Nice guitar, sir. I love that bearclaw.

Thanks, Steve. Arkansas armadillos and I go back too far. Do your armadillos have long horns or is that in West Texas?

I'm going to see you down there someday, Steve. My wife and I keep wanting to take a drive out to Fredericksburg, and we will pass through the oldest town in Texas on our way. Don't know when it will happen, but some day.

Ron

Mainly in West Texas. Ours are the ones with the long fangs. But when overlap occurs, and cross-breeding, some dangerous hybrids result.

You are more than welcome to drop by! Bring a guitar, and your armadillo nets.

That's a beauty Ron! I'd love to see the look on your buddies face when he sees that.

Cheers,
