this is good news!!
Thanks for putting this together for us. Just out of curiosity, how many gross of strings did we all collectively purchase?

I'll look forward to stringing up some D'Addario strings soon :) bliss

Well, yes there is.
I started last weekend going through the boxes and it appears that our order is wrong.
The mediums are correct the lights are not. So just this eveing I got word from Peter on how to process the return. All the lights are going back to NJ on Thursday and well have the new order as soon they correct it. I suspect in a week or so.

I will keep you all posted...

Strings shipped back today and I got word that the turnaround will be 3 to 4 days once they get at the plant.

Just an FYI! Trying to keep you all informed as we go! :)

These things never go as planned. Some times I wonder why we even try.

=============
Nov 12
Strings Shipped back UPS ground NOV 13th
UPS tracking # 1Z4577100347372734
Strings arrived 11/18/2008 @ 11:05 A.M
================

Hello Lance -

Turn around time will depend on when we receive the strings back.

Once back at our facility I believe we will be able to get this done in
2-3 days for you and then send them back to you.

Have a nice day
=======================

Lets say that they didnt work over the Thanksgiving weekend, fair?
Ok, now they get back to work Monday the 24th. By the above email I suspect that they will have them back in the mail to me by the 27th or 28th at the latest.
I should have received them the first week of December (say the 3rd or 4th). We are now in to the second week.

I have sent an inquire as to an ETA this morning. I will let you know when I hear.

This might be the last time I do this. I don't like the pressure nor some of the remarks. Not to mention the added work load on me to get this stuff done and out the door.

Aint worth it.

Lance and others. The problem with this isn't from Lance's end. If an order wasn't right, and then factory not keeping their end of the deal is Lance's fault, but factory end of things. Lance can only do with what he gets. This however is a big order, and I don't understand the factory hold up of things. That isn't excusable. Lance, you get the raw end of the gripes on these things and why do it again. If folks want a good deal, get an OEM or OME deal (can't remember which) with a factory on your own.

I appreciate you doing this Lance.

You have done a great job of updating everyone whenever you had new information. It did take a while, but definitely not your fault. Even with the time waited, we're all still getting a great deal so it's still worth the wait.

I won't blame you for not wanting to do it again in the future though.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the effort, Lance!

Next time I think you should delegate the job to Brock and/or the moderators. laughing6-hehe

They've been conspicuously silent on this issue! beehive pizza

Hey No problem Lance. It's not like any of us have 144 guitars waiting to get strings or anything laughing6-hehe

Honestly, it's very kind of you and the OLF to offer such a great deal, and I'm glad I payed for them when the Canuck Buck was considerably more favorable.

I agree with JJ, get that slacker moderator over to help you package the strings up. It would be good for him to get off his butt :twisted:

hey Lance, I apologize if you think I was ragging on you,realy its just my twisted sense of humor, I know you are doing the best you can, I didnt realize your post about sending the strings back to D'addario was on the 22 of november,it seems longer ago , I was just looking at 2 1/2 months since you sent THEM the payment . I know how frustrating it can be when you are relying upon someone else to bring a deal to fruition ! it just seems like a long time for an order this large, especialy when you are a repeat customer.anyways , PLEASE DONT SICK THE HESHTER ON ME ! LOL have a nice day! Jody

I got my gross of light strings by UPS today bliss thanks Lance!!! [:Y:] [clap] [:Y:] [clap] [:Y:]

Actually, I have a few extra strings in my bundle (2 x #1 silver end, 1 x #2 violet end, and 1 x #6 gold end) - what should I do with them? Maybe someone else is missing them? You want them back Lance?

I have split them into sets of 6 and sealed each set into a 6" poly bag and will be shipping out 108 of them (3 sets of 36) to the guys that took the extras from me first thing tomorrow. GregG, Lex Luthier, and Blain - I'll PM ya with a tracking number ASAP.

Oh, one thing: Lance, I never noted down the gauges of the six sizes in the light set. Do you know what they are? This will help us get our nut slots trimmed perfectly. :geek:

Thanks for doing this for us Lance, it's much appreciated. Sorry it turned into a hassle again this time (with the returns), but it was easier (I hear) than the first time was, right?

Cheers,
Dave F.
