I just received this book and took a very quick glance through it and all I can say is WOW! For a newbie like me it really is a treat! Not only do they go through the motions on how to spray a great finish, but the coolest part is that it gives many, many color examples of some of our "grail guitars"; Martin, Strat, L5, etc..... And then it goes on telling you exactly how to recreate that finish!

It doesn't take much to get me going. I mean, I can sit with many different types of lutherie books for hours on end and feel like a kid in a candy store. But this one especially got me! Great gift to hint to your wife about around this time of the year. ;) Happy Holidays to all!

It's on my shopping list to, but being in the UK I want to attach it to a big order and am waiting for the £ to go up again

Get the DVDs too. And the Sunburst video. Problem is they really don't give you very much info on spraying technic in detail.

Thanks Chris. I'm planning on getting the videos eventually. Right now I'm not doing any spraying anyway. Just wanted some fun reading. :)

Yes, the book is great. I got the videos as well, but they didn't have DVDs at that time.

Has someone done a toot on basic spray technique and/or spray booth set up? I could use it. How about UV cured poly?

I've done some research on these topics, but nothing definitive.

Just got the book as a christmas gift. With only a cursory look so far, it seems to have a lot of info. Can't wait to dive into it.
