My experience has been to just built the coats to reach the number you want, 3 per day. Nitro melts in each day. Then flatten after it cures for a while (a week +). Worked for me.

Thanks! The burst turned out exactly as I was hoping in terms of colour. With low light the burst looks very dark but una a well lite room you can see the reddish brown and amber colour just melting together.

Update- I’ve sprayed a total of 8 coats of nitro and and I might spray 2 more coats or let it dry for a couple of weeks then start wet sanding and buffing.

Question: how many coats of nitro do you folks typically spray and what grit sandpaper do you start the wet sanding process with? I was thinking of leaving it at 8 coats of nitro and starting with a P1000 wet/dry sandpaper and moving up to 3000 before using the buffing wheel. Also wondering if I should worry about the specs of dust and boogers I got when spraying. I didn’t spray in a booth so it got quite a few “boogers”.

Any help is appreciated!

Carlos
